Learn to give Proper Credit

If you do already give credit, congradulations, you're doing something right.

I don't mean to be harsh, but every other week for awhile I keep hearing stories of my friends' artwork being stolen, not credited, or not properly credited. It's extremely annoying, and it even happened to me before.

I made an avatar with me and my two characters in it for this Sailor Moon forum I go to. Randomly, I got a private message from this girl, FURIOUS that I stole her avatar. So, she went on for weeks claiming that I stole it from her, when it had me in it, with my name on it. Apparently she didn't realize that she wasn't me, I don't see how retarts can actually connect their computers to the internet, that's amazing. It went on for weeks, because we'd have to wait a day to get our replies and what not. But really, how rude and stupid can you get? Very odd, but then, just as quick as she was to claim it was hers, she went, "oh, sorry, I didn't make it.".

I KNEW she didn't make it, because I MADE IT. So weird! My god!

On to the point,

Always credit, it gives you brownie points, and helps you explore. Take for instance, my one buddy on deviantART makes sprite/pixel art non-stop, and she always properly credits who made the bases she chose, with the base artist's name, as well as a link to them. That's the exact proper way, totally effing simple.

Beyond that, now me, looking at her art, can now access the base maker's site, so it helps out everyone.

This idiot girl on sheezyart.com tried yelling at me, because she only credited a person with the base artist's name. I just happen to know the base artist, but still, the name doesn't get me anywhere, it's not a link. So, if that stupid girl yells at me again, I'll show her up by understanding proper credit. ^_^ har har.

I used to be called just "Neko", due to the fact that's one of my original character's names. But, soooo many people call themselves "Neko" so I dropped the name. If anything, I'm just called, "Sute Neko", but I prefer "Sute" since it's from my real name, tweaked a bit.

My other awesome friend on deviantart credited me, but by using the name "Neko" which does no justice at all, since so many people have that nickname, so I told her to change it, which she did, but there's no link to me.. X_X ... ergh.. but it's better than just Neko, right?

Another thing I do, is give credit when I'm inspired by something, because that scores brownie points with whoever inspired you, and it shows you took time out to acknowledge them, too. ^_^
